The Tax Administrators office was created, in April of 1999, upon the retirement of the Tax Collector Bill Ricks. William E. Stevens, the Tax Assessor at the time, was appointed by the County Board of Commissioners to oversee the Tax Collecting and Tax Assessing offices. This site was created, for the citizens of Pasquotank County, for a number of reasons. The first was to give the public access to real estate information, via the ArcIMS site. Some other reasons were to provide citizens with general information on assessments, listing, tax relief programs (such as the land use program and elderly and disabled citizens) and billing/payment due dates.
