Recording Documents:

All documents to be recorded are $14.00 for the first page and $3.00 for each additional page. Certain deeds are subject to a NC Excise Tax and a county Land Transfer Tax. Please call during normal business hours for more information. Cancellations of Deeds of Trust are no charge.
Certified Birth Certificates:
Provide child's full name, date of birth, father's full name, mother's full maiden name and your relationship to the child. Fees are $10.00 for the large size certificate with a raised seal or $11.00 for the laminated wallet size.
Certified Death Certificates:
Provide decedent's full name, date of death and your relationship to the decedent. Fee is $10.00 per copy.
Certified Marriage License:
Provide groom's full name, bride's full maiden name, date of marriage, and your relationship to the parties. Fee is $10.00 per copy.
Marriage License (for parties 18 and over):
There are two methods in which a marriage license can be obtained:

1.   Both parties must appear in this office. Each must have a picture ID and a Social Security card. If either or both have been married before, must bring proof the last marriage has ended.

2.  One of the parties must complete an affidavit in lieu of appearance for a marriage license.  The other party must appear in this office with a picture ID, Social Security card and the completed affidavit.  If either or both have been married before, must bring proof the last marriage has ended. After the license is issued, parties can be married in North Carolina the same day or any time up to 60 days of issuance. Fee is $50.00 CASH.
