This program is sponsored by the NC Department of Transportation and offers
groups a highly visible community service project. Volunteers conduct
quarterly clean-ups along a chosen piece of highway and a sign with their
organizations name is placed along the road they adopted. For more
information contact DOT at 331-4737. · Adopt-A-City
Street - The
project is sponsored by the City of Elizabeth City and seeks volunteers to conduct
clean-ups along roads within the city limits. Those groups or individuals that volunteer
have a sign with the organizations name placed along the adopted area. To volunteer
contact City Sanitation Department at 337-6628. This unique program is sponsored by Pasquotank County's Solid Waste Department. Fun Junktion seeks volunteers to adopt an area within the park to plant flowers throughout the year. Those organizations that volunteer will also receive a sign with their organizations name listed.
