Other Local Clean-up Options

·      Adopt-A-Highway -

This program is sponsored by the NC Department of Transportation and offers groups a highly visible community service project. Volunteers conduct quarterly clean-ups along a chosen piece of highway and a sign with their organizations name is placed along the road they adopted. For more information contact DOT at 331-4737.

·      Adopt-A-City Street -

The project is sponsored by the City of Elizabeth City and seeks volunteers to conduct clean-ups along roads within the city limits. Those groups or individuals that volunteer have a sign with the organizations name placed along the adopted area. To volunteer contact City Sanitation Department at 337-6628.

·      Adopt-A-Spot -

This unique program is sponsored by Pasquotank County's Solid Waste Department. Fun Junktion seeks volunteers to adopt an area within the park to plant flowers throughout the year. Those organizations that volunteer will also receive a sign with their organizations name listed. For more information contact the KAB Coordinator at 335-4105 or Fun Junktion Offices at 337-6600.
